Congratulations Allen Mincey!

·      The Cleveland Media Association proudly announces Allen Mincey as the 2010 Excellence in Communication Award Recipient. 
·      Mincey currently works for United Way of Cleveland.
·      To be eligible, nominees must meet certain requirements some of which include: residing in Cleveland area for at least 5 years, and demonstrate high moral and ethical standards within and outside of the workplace.
·      The award was presented by The Church of God International Offices Coordinator of Communication, Cameron Fisher on Friday at the last meeting.
·      The purpose of the award is to “honor the life, contributions and achievements of an individual in Cleveland and Bradley County, who over the course of time has demonstrated an example of integrity, accomplishment, service and leadership in the field of communications and or media.”    - Cleveland Media Association

It’s drawing near!


The Excellence in Communications Award is given each year to an individual who has demonstrated not only leadership, but is accomplished in the Communications field. The history of this prestigious award dates back to 2002, and will continue to promote a person of great merit. The individual’s occupation can range from involvement in radio, television, or even internet communication.

To increase involvement for this specific award, The Cleveland Media Association is encouraging widespread community input for nominations. Certain criteria for nominees must be met to be considered for the award.  This includes a completion of the nomination form, a cover letter, and resume. Also each candidate must have resided in the Bradley County area for five years. Family, church, and community involvement will be considered as well. All nominations are due by November 22nd.

Previous award recipients include; Cameron Fisher, Coordinator of Communication for the Church of God International Offices; Michael Laney, Communication Department Chair at Lee University. To receive nomination form visit @clevmediaassoc or email JCreekmore@clevelandutilities.com.

Q: Who can nominate an individual for this Award?
           
            A: Any member of the Cleveland Media Association or the community may nominate an                              
            individual.

Q: What are the elements in nominating a communications professional?

            A: The elements needed to nominate a professional include a cover letter from the person
                 nominating including contact information, a résumé of the candidates
                 accomplishments, and a high moral and ethical standards. Community and family
                 service as well as training and education are considered.

Q: Who is eligible to be nominated?

            A: Anyone who resides in Cleveland or Bradley County who has shown integrity,
                 accomplishment, service and leadership in the communications or media field
                 are eligible to be nominated.

Q: How long has this award been around?

            A: The award was started in 2002.

Q: What is this award’s purpose?
           
            A. The purpose is to honor the achievements, life and contrabutions of an outstanding
                 individual in the communication field.

Excellence In Communication Background


The Excellence in Communication Award is the most prestigious award given by the Cleveland Media Association.

This award is given to honorable communication professionals who currently reside in Bradley County, Tennessee. The purpose of the award is to honor the life, contributions and achievements of these outstanding professionals.

Each prospective honoree is selected from nominations open to the community.  It is not necessary to be a member to achieve this award.

It is the goal of the Cleveland Media Association to honor such qualified professionals with prestige as each individual has dedicated their career, to implement courage, integrity, and communication service.

Previous winners of the award have range from college professors, to even the mayor.  When it all boils down, the Cleveland Media Association realizes that communication is not dedicated solely to communication professionals, but yet a wide range of industries.

This is why the Cleveland Media Association finds it necessary to honor those professionals regardless of title or profession to truly dedicate this Excellence in Communication Award to the most qualified communicators of the community.
